What matters here

Direct, local, and worth coming back for.

The website can sell online, but the heart of the business is the Yatala distillery door. Locals visit, taste the range, leave with the bottles they rate, then come back when the empties are ready to return.

Bottle return rate87%+

Repeat customers keep bottles moving through the distillery instead of treating them as single-use packaging.

The story

Built by the maker, not a shelf label.

Founder Ryan grew up around sugar cane country, then built Rebellion Rum Co. from a hobby still into a working local distillery. The approach is practicalthe right ingredients, make the product properly, and keep improving the range instead of chasing one-off sales.

The name nods to the Rum Rebellion of 1808, but the modern version is less about theatre and more about challenging the way spirits are usually bought. You can visit the place they are made, ask what is new, taste before you buy, and take home the bottles that suit how you drink.

The French Bulldog in the brand is Pepito, the distillery mascot. It is part family story, part local character, and a useful reminder that Rebellion is meant to feel human at the counter.

Local roots

A Gold Coast distillery with a local loop.

Sugarcane comes from farms around Jacobs Well and Toowoomba, honey comes from regional hives, and the distillery keeps room for collaborations with small local businesses.

The bottle return program is part of the same loop. Customers save on the next visit, bottles and boxes get reused where practical, and locals have a concrete reason to come back to Yatala.

Rebellion also supports local sports clubs, domestic violence advocacy groups, and Rotary. The goal is straightforwardgood spirits, give people a good time, and reduce harm where the business can.
